2023 election turnout: —

The ring shows the response count as a share of the older register. If it exceeds 100%, the ring fills and the printed percentage shows the uncapped rate. That calls for a source and denominator check; it is not a finding of excess turnout.

What we asked Elections Alberta · sent October 20

We asked Elections Alberta to verify three dated polling-place counts: ED 67 Question 8, ED 25 Question 1, and ED 43 Question 5. The request is for context or correction, not an allegation. We will add their explanation when received. Check the current source ↗

What is still unreported

Locations listed here have not yet reported any referendum question. A location marked reporting may still have questions pending.

Waiting for the latest source snapshot.

These are locations, not uncounted ballots or votes. Elections Alberta does not give a reliable number of outstanding votes for each question. Even when all locations report, individual questions may remain incomplete.

Featured data question · Question 10

Why does the special-ballot split differ?

Compare the counted answers to “remain a province of Canada” across voting methods. Option 2 asks for a process leading to a later separation referendum; it is not an immediate vote to leave Canada.

Reading the count

What these numbers mean

Question responses are not voters. Each question is a separate ballot. A person may answer some questions and decline others. “Valid votes across ten questions” must not be read as turnout.

Reporting is by voting location. Elections Alberta marks a location reported when at least one question has been submitted. Even 100% locations reporting does not establish that every question is complete.

Historic context has different dates. The population is from the 2021 census. Registered electors are from May 2025. The provincial election comparison is from 2023. No current ED eligible-elector count is published in this dataset.

City comparison is geographic. “Fully within a city” means at least 99.5% of the ED land area overlaps one official city polygon. “City and beyond” crosses that boundary; “outside” has less than 0.5% overlap. Land area does not measure how urban residents are.

Province and ED totals may differ. The source currently includes a small number of votes in province totals that are not assigned to a displayed ED. We show them separately.

This free citizen transparency project is independent of Elections Alberta. We make the unofficial count easier to explore and highlight specific figures for verification. A flag is a question, not a claim of improper conduct. Refer to Elections Alberta for official wording and final results. Source update times are shown above.

We count visits, views opened, chart and pivot changes, map filters, downloads, and time spent actively viewing the page. We group approximate network location as Alberta, elsewhere in Canada, outside Canada, or unknown, plus broad referral categories. These are visits and actions, not a count of unique people. The analytics database stores no IP address, account, report text, screenshot, chart values, or full referring URL. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control requests are respected.

Community reports are public immediately. The submission service uses a day-specific hash of the connection IP to limit abuse; it does not publish that hash or ask for an account. Reports can be flagged for removal review. Do not submit personal information or allegations about identifiable people.
